means crystals or crystals?

I would point out that what I write is inherent to the materials used in jewelry: as far as natural crystals, I refer you to wikipedia: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cristallo

CRYSTALS
The crystals are NOT diamonds.
Diamond is a rock composed of carbon and its quality depends on 4valori:
weight, purity, color and cut.
Crystal (I always refer to the one used in jewelry, such as Swarovski crystals) is not a stone ... is glass!
glass with the addition of a lead that increases the effects of refraction and the different shades of color.
The quality of the crystal is measured by the percentage of lead oxide that contains: ranging from a minimum of 4% to 30% or more (prices vary based on crystals of this figure).
The quality of Swarovski crystals is much higher than other brands of crystal beads, this is the best known, but it is not the only one: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swarovski

half-crystal
Links crystals are faceted glass beads machine and then put in an electric furnace to soften and reduce the sharp edges of the faces, and give the glass shine and color.
crystals because these vehicles are called look like a faceted crystal beads, but unlike the crystal not contain lead.
Caution: Do not be fooled by "half crystal" cheap, probably because they are made of plastic!
